Landscape Elements LLC has completed a landscape master plan for the headquarters at the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve which is located on roughly 4 acres of land at the northernmost point of the Reserve's property at the southern end of Prudence Island.
The goals and objectives of the Narragansett Bay Reserve focus on the protection and management of estuarine ecosystems, advancing the use of Reserve science and facilities to address coastal management issues and educating people and enhancing their ability to make informed decisions with respect to coastal communities and ecosystems. The Landscape Master Plan focuses on increasing and enhancing visibility for the reserve headquarters building as well as providing opportunities for on-site examples of environmentally conscious and ecologically sustainable landscape treatments. This master plan addresses the key issues and concerns of the Reserve staff, provides a blueprint for improvements that respect the ecology of the site, and presents an opportunity to educate the public through sustainable landscape strategies. » Back to Case Studies |
